OUR MANDATE

To provide proactive safety and safety-related programs and services to the construction industry, this will contribute to a safer work place and a healthy and profitable economy. This will be done through efforts which facilitate compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Workers Compensation Act and their regulations; increase the regional competitiveness of construction industry firms; and enhance the mobility of construction industry workers. Further, to work with regulatory bodies and the construction industry to develop and/or revise legislation or regulations affecting the safety of the industry.

Primary Objectives

	to save lives and reduce injuries
	to assist industry in reducing costs associated with work place accidents
	to maintain compliance with regulatory bodies
	to manage and establish ownership of loss control programs
	to educate all parties as to their roles and responsibilities in safety
	to promote the concept that safety is a shared responsibility requiring a team approach and commitment by all
	to contribute to a healthier provincial economy
	to provide employers and workers with affordable, accessible, high quality occupational health and safety
	to facilitate the ability of construction firms to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Workers Compensation Act and their Regulations
